Beloved, as we gather in God's house [this year], I want to direct your attention to one of the most remarkable women in all of Scripture - a woman whose name appears in only a few verses, yet whose influence echoes through eternity. Today we look at Elizabeth, mentioned only here in the Book of Luke, chapter one. Yet her influence reaches far beyond these precious verses.

Last week we learned that Elizabeth was righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. We know that she was barren, unable to bear children in a culture where childlessness was seen as a curse. She was the wife of Zacharias, a priest who served in the temple of the Lord.
