The Wise Men

Matt 2:1-12

Verse 1: Wise men from the East. To Jerusalem. The east was probably Modern Day Iran back then it would have been Persia / Babylon.

Why is that important? Because these were probably men who were followers of Daniel's writings. Daniel was written around 500 years before Christ. He was Promoted to the 2nd in the kingdom. He saved the other wise men from death. It seems to me that after Daniel's death there were many men who wanted to learn the wisdom of Daniel.

Daniel 6:1-3

6 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; 2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. 3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
