Repentance

Only two Sundays till Easter so I thought we would look at a very straightforward teaching that gets to the heart of the Gospel message. Repentance is not merely a theological concept to be discussed in seminary classrooms, but a vital, life-changing reality that every person must face. As we approach the celebration of Christ's resurrection, we must first understand why His death was necessary - because of our sin and our desperate need for repentance.

Jesus has just taught on the rich man whose soul would be taken that night. He spoke of the farmer who left his property in the hands of the workers, and of men who can tell the weather but lack the sense to prepare for Christ's soon coming. These parables were not abstract sto...
