1 John 4:1Loading... Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

John’s warning to Christians is to not believe every spirit. What does he mean by spirit here? That means a desire, an intention, an emotion or direction that pretends to be the Holy Spirit.

This is a big problem in churches today. Just because you believe in God and the gospel does not mean you believe everything that slaps a Jesus sticker on it. Two sad realities: 1. Some people who believe in Jesus: can also be the type to believe anything. 2. The great experience of salvation might make you automatically accept something that aligns with christianity.

But the apostle John the one who walked and talked with Jesus. Warns christians ...
