INTRODUCTION

When we read through the New Testament, we discover that the Bible speaks of baptism in four different ways. Most people think of baptism as just getting dunked in water at church, but the Bible reveals a much deeper and richer meaning.

This morning I want to show you four different baptisms mentioned in Scripture, and help you understand what each one means and why it matters for your Christian life.

The word “baptize” comes from the Greek word “baptizo,” which means to immerse or to completely cover. Throughout Scripture, this word is used to describe four distinct baptisms that every believer needs to understand.
