What is Meekness and Why should we Be Meek

Matthew 5:5

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

When most people hear the word "meek," they think of someone who is weak, timid, or a pushover. They picture someone who gets walked all over, someone who can't stand up for themselves, someone who just takes whatever life dishes out without fighting back.

But that's not what Jesus meant at all. In fact, the Greek word for "meek" is "praios," which was used to describe a wild horse that had been tamed and trained. The horse still had all its strength and power, but now it was under control. It had been broken to the bridle.
