Centurion - Roman Officer - 100 Men responsible for discipline.

He had a dear servant that was sick.

What do you need from Jesus? People come to Jesus for many reasons.

What do you think gains you approval of God? Why should God listen to you? What are you relying on to gain favor with God.

He sent the “religious” elders of the Jews he had some sway with the Jewish people and had built them a synagogue. He thought maybe these people who had devoted their life to the things of God, they could get ahold of Jesus, They could entreat Jesus for him. People who he had influenced and he had given money to. Maybe God will listen to me because I gave money to the church.
