John 11:5

5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

Now we know Jesus loves everyone. He came to save the world from their sin. What was a little different about this case is that everyone saw Jesus love them.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It was when Lazurus died that the people around saw Jesus weeping and said wow he really does love and care for this family. Many of us have friends that we hang out with. These were Jesus' friends. It’s a little different from Mary Magdalene. Mary followed Jesus. This family were close friends but seemingly they had their own ministry that kept them busy.
