When You Can’t Do Anything Else, Pray

When you can’t do anything else, Pray.

This is right before Jesus gets taken to be condemned to die. This is right before the prayer on the mount of Olives. This is right before Jesus is going to give himself into the hands of sinners.

He is not going to be able to lead the disciples any more; he will be taken prisoner and led to his death. Jesus knows the future. He knows what will happen to him. And he knows that the devil is going to attack the disciples during this time.

Jesus had compassion on the multitudes because they were like a sheep having no shepherd. He did not want the disciples to be like that. He did not want them to turn their backs on him. He did not want their faith to fail.
