Raising Kids in Church Like Timothy

RAISING KIDS IN CHURCH LIKE TIMOTHY

2 Timothy 3:15 "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

Today in our churches, we face a sobering reality. Many of our young people are walking away from the faith. They grow up in our Sunday schools, attend our youth programs, VBS, and participate in our church activities, yet when they reach “adulthood”, they abandon the things of God. Because the devil has the temptation to drag them away.

We've tried entertainment. We've tried making church "fun" and "relevant." We've focused on keeping them engaged and out of trouble. But maybe we've been asking the wrong question. Instead of asking "How do we keep them entertained?" we should be asking "How do we raise them like Timothy?"
