This time period is not the rapture. It is the end of the tribulation period, leading into the millennium. The rapture occurs before the seven-year tribulation period when the church is caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This parable, however, deals with those who remain on earth during the tribulation and are waiting for Christ's return to establish His millennial kingdom. Understanding this distinction helps us properly apply the lessons Jesus is teaching about preparedness and spiritual readiness.
