Body, Soul, and Spirit

We are a spirit being, we live in a body and we possess a soul.

Body - what we see - mortal physical part.

Soul - is who we are (mind, will & emotions) - immortal

Spirit - the real eternal us inside (what we can not see) - immortal

I. First we must establish that there is a difference in soul and spirit.

Heb 4:12 - Even if I have a little trouble defining the difference between soul and Spirit, God's Word has none. In fact, in this verse, spirit means soul. Can be confusing…but is not.

"Spirit is that which lives on when the body life is extinct". I Thes 5:23

II. Body - Matt 10:28

We are not to fear those that have power over only our bodies.

This is why the martyrs could do what they did. The body only.

Unsaved...
