The 4 Baptism’s “More than you ever wanted to know.”

John's Baptism

The purpose was to prepare men to turn their heart to Jesus. He came in the spirit of Elijah. He was prophesied to come before the Messiah.

He preached repentance. He preached preparation. But he did not preach the complete gospel as we know it. That is why we call our gospel Paul’s gospel.

John was born for a specific reason to point the Jews to Jesus. He said he must increase and I must decrease. He said behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world.

Mark 1:3–4Loading... 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
