Vau is the 6th section of Psalms 119. Vav is like the v sound in Hebrew. The picture is that of a tent stake or something anchored to the earth.

I remember when we would setup the tent for the tent revival at Highland Hills we would sledgehammer in 40 or so stakes into the ground. We were tired after that.

6 is also a picture of man. Why? Created on the 6th day. It means creation because there were six days of creation.

It's a picture of imperfection or coming short. Man is made a little lower than God. We can't attain God status. If you remember the temptation of Eve in the garden the devil says you shall be as God knowing good and evil.
