Alcoholics Anonymous tells its members they must "believe" in a higher power, suggesting they could even use a doorknob as their object of faith. But salvation isn't about believing in just anything - whether a doorknob, religion, baptism, communion, or good works. These are all equally powerless to save. True saving faith has a specific object: Jesus Christ alone.
