Taking the Name of God in Vain

Exodus 20:7

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

This is not a commandment to the heathen though when others use Jesus name it hurts our spirit. The wicked are going to do the works of their father the Devil. I always wondered how the name of Jesus became a swear word and it has to be straight from the pits of hell. The devil wants the name of Jesus not to be associated with Love, Grace, Salvation and Holiness. But with anger, disgust, and contempt.

“Buy the truth, and sell it not”
— Proverbs 23:23
