I. The Danger of Ministerial Pride (1 Corinthians 2:1-5)
Ministry is a sobering responsibility that should never be approached with human confidence or pride. Verse 1-5 reminds us that it is a dangerous place to get to when a preacher no longer approaches the pulpit in fear and trembling. This holy fear is not terror, but a reverence for God's Word and a recognition of our human frailty. When ministers begin to rely on their own eloquence, education, or charisma rather than the power of God, they have stepped into dangerous territory.
